State Of Affairs - QuickScope |

This is a new article I have recently written about the State Of Affairs within the UK Counter Strike Source Scene, and what has happened with it. Generally it is an article that is talking absolute nonsense however there are some good points that I'd love to see people get discussing about and seeing where and how we can do things slightly better. Quote This is the ultimate problem facing UK eSports as a whole, communities in general have actually disappeared. I know this may well be a criticism leveled at Rasta, but I can remember when Rasta could send 6 teams to each of the iSeries events, along with 10 - 20 spectators each event, the same for Twisted Play. Rasta have been expanding accross the world but have forgotten their true roots in the United Kingdom, and whilst yes they have a currently fantastic Rasta.Xd side, they also lack many other sides who can go to LAN and support each other. Twisted Play used to use the iSeries events as a way to get drunk, and have lots of fun as a community. We have lost a whole host of communities, and a community spirit to stick together and have a bundle of fun. People may point out that we all move on, or time gets the best of us, you may well be correct, but whole communities? Really? Source: Click Here for full read! Of course, flame, comment, share, read, have a giggle at it, etc etc.

it's not the doing well it's the turning up. more teams = more sponsorship = bigger prizes lans = more teams = more sponsorship and the circle continues. Disclaimer: The above post is made by TwsT. the reason why i believe the uk scene has died to a certain degree is because what do teams look forward too? the ESL eps is no longer so not only does the teams think there is no point they also haven't got any motivation to push forward and make it to #1. Prize money in the uk i would say it at its all time low online. the only decent money people can challenge for is at lans. also English players are looking at going to teams in other countries where esl eps is alive and giving money away. The only way i can see the scene becoming better is for communities like Rasta,AYE,Twisted play, MOD getting teams to lan and online push EPL and DIV1 as this may give the teams the push they need to play as they will want to beat these teams pushing the higher leagues. This is my personal opinion but its probably wrong ^^. I may die but my glory shall always live!

Quote the ESL eps is no longer so not only does the teams think there is no point they also haven't got any motivation to push forward and make it to #1. ye true, we're waiting since november to play the EPL qualifier. But changes should be made soon dw :) ESL has already made changes in the german EAS so it's just a matter of time before the other countries follow.

Hang on a second gumpleton. I'm not too sure what you are getting at here as every lan Rasta's attendance near doubles what MOD provide so why not turn to ciriticising eye on yourself and work out how you can get more teams to lan rather than going after people that take 15-50 people to each event? I mentioned i44, one team wasn't it in Source? Even at i43 it wasn't that impressive. MOD has never be huge and never will be huge, the most we will muster to a LAN is 3 teams. My point was more to the fact that you have shrunk domestically and dont take as many spectators as you did to LAN back at i31 - i36/7. The same as Twisted Play. You may of expanded in terms of teams across the world, but domestically, you are lacking. Personal opinion ofcourse.
